 Warning against use in children: Rivo 75 should not be used in children under 16 years of age. What if you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or plan to become pregnant? Rivo 75 is not associated with any problems during pregnancy except during childbirth, but like all medicines, it is necessary to consult a doctor or pharmacist to know if Rivo 75 is suitable for you. It should not be used in the last three months of pregnancy due to the possibility of acetylsalicylic acid causing prolongation of delivery with increased bleeding before and after childbirth and the possibility of causing disruption of the blood clotting process in the newborn baby. How do I take Rivo 75 mg? Usually the daily dose is 1 to 2 tablets once daily. Sometimes a higher dose may be needed, especially for a short period of up to 4 tablets per day. PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION Pharmacodynamics: Naftidrofuryl oxalate has been shown to exert a direct effect on intracellular metabolism, thus it has been shown in man and animals that it produces an increase of ATP levels and a decrease of lactic acid levels in ischemic conditions, evidence for an enhancement of cellular oxidative capacity. Furthermore, naftidrofuryl oxalate is a powerful spasmolytic agent. At vascular level: Naftidrofuryl, an antivasoconstrictor (not a vasodilator) agent, increases blood flow by lowering arteriolar tone. PROPERTIES Carvedilol, the active ingredient in CARVID, is a cardioprotective non cardio selective beta adrenoceptor blocking drug (beta-blocker) which has in addition an arteriolar vasodilating action by alpha 1 receptor blocking effect, and thus lowers peripheral resistance.
