What is Azi-Once Oral Suspension?

Azi-Once Oral Suspension contains the active ingredient azithromycin, which belongs to a group of medicines called macrolide antibiotics. It is used to treat infections caused by certain types of bacteria.

Important information about Azi-Once:

  • This medicine is prescribed for treating infections such as respiratory infections, skin infections, and ear infections.
  • Always follow your doctor’s instructions carefully when taking this medication.


Before you take Azi-Once Oral Suspension

Who should not take Azi-Once?

Do not take Azi-Once Oral Suspension if:

  • You are allergic (hypersensitive) to azithromycin or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • You have ever had a serious allergic reaction to other antibiotics, including penicillins or cephalosporins.

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Azi-Once if:

  • You have liver problems.
  • You have kidney problems.
  • You have a history of heart rhythm disturbances.
  • You are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Taking other medicines

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including those obtained without a prescription. Some medicines may interact with Azi-Once, including:

  • Antacids containing aluminum or magnesium.
  • Warfarin or other blood thinners.
  • Cyclosporine or digoxin.

How to take Azi-Once Oral Suspension

Dosage Instructions

  • Take Azi-Once exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Shake the bottle well before use to ensure the medicine is evenly distributed.
  • Use the measuring device provided to measure the correct dose.

General Advice:

  • Azi-Once can be taken with or without food.
  • Complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better.

If you miss a dose

If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten one.

Possible Side Effects

Like all medicines, Azi-Once Oral Suspension can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common side effects include:

  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea
  • Abdominal pain
  • Vomiting

Rare side effects include:

  • Allergic reactions (e.g., rash, itching, swelling)
  • Dizziness
  • Headache

If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop taking Azi-Once and seek medical attention immediately:

  • Severe allergic reactions (e.g., difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat)
  • Irregular heartbeat or chest pain
