Cefdinir Power: The Ultimate Guide to Dinar Capsules for Bacterial Infections

Composition:

Each Dinar capsule contains 300 mg of cefdinir.

Properties:

Dinar capsules contain the active ingredient cefdinir, an extended-spectrum, semisynthetic third-generation cephalosporin, for oral administration. Cefdinir's bactericidal activity results from inhibiting cell wall synthesis. It has been shown to be active against most strains of microorganisms:

  • Aerobic Gram-positive microorganisms: Staphylococcus aureus (including B-lactamase-producing strain), Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Streptococcus pyogenes.
  • Aerobic Gram-negative microorganisms: Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus parainfluenzae, and Moraxella catarrhalis (including B-lactamase-producing strain).

Indications:

  1. Community-acquired pneumonia.
  2. Acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis.
  3. Acute maxillary sinusitis.
  4. Pharyngitis/Tonsillitis caused by Streptococcus pyogenes.
  5. Uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes.

Dosage Administration:

Adults:

  • Mild to moderate infections: 300 mg twice daily or 600 mg once daily for 10 days.
  • Dosing adjustment in renal impairment: CLcr<30 ml/minute: 300 mg once daily.
  • For patients undergoing haemodialysis, the recommended initial dose is 300 mg every other day. At the end of each haemodialysis session, 300 mg should be administered.

Contraindications:

Dinar capsules are contraindicated in patients with a known allergy to the cephalosporin class of antibiotics.

Packing:

Each box contains 10 capsules in 1 strip.
